  • Can I place an order in the CQGM demo account? (order rejected)

    Hi, I am new to this platform and fairly new to trading, the practical side anyway, and so am trying to test out the CQGM platform as I think the Integrated Client will be a bit too expensive at this stage. However I will be using that when training with Amplify Trading (London).

    But for now I am just wanting to familiarize myself with the platform, terminology, and layout while I decide what platform I feel comfortable with and that I can afford. I am trying to place an order in the demo account on the CLEJ19 Crude light: April 2019 contract by either a Market order, Trailing stop, or TLMT,TSTP, and OCO, Size 1 contract. But when I attempt this I receive the following error;

    SELL 1 CLEJ19 MKT Order related alert (Order# 972871084 | Acc# TSCQGGC1088): Order rejected (single trade size limit for the commodity US CLE is 0, size of this order is 1).

    Does this mean I cannot place any trades in the demo account, or can I use a different security/product, where single trade size limit is >=1?

    Thanks for your help.

    Robert

    Here's another question...

    After seeking support from here and CQG forum, I have now been kicked off the demo 5 days too early, stating that my demo had expired... after only 2 days! It says I had 1 week and was due to expire on Monday 11th. This seems pointless blocking me like that as I just requested another demo under a new email. I have several emails.

    I have tried to use CQG about 1 year ago and contacted them for support at the time, and I remember them either doing the same thing or telling me that they would help, but then completely ignoring me. Makes me think twice about using them, as I would be apprehensive as to whether I could trust them with a large account. The only reason I have opted for the CQG route is that its the platform I will be training on, as well as my cousin, who works for a hedge fund, recommended them to me for becoming a retail trader.

    Maybe they only like to deal with large trading firms, prop firms etc?

    Not happy!

    P.s. Is this forum even active...? 0 responses on most of the threads!

      Sorted this now. The new demo account seems to be working as it should.

        Yes it is very active. Please contact us directly for help next time and for suggestions on how to acquire new demos. you can contact our help desk directly 1800 560 1640 ext 1. CLEJ19 is the front month on crude oil so there should not be any limitations on placing orders in this contract.
