  • Limit Pullback

ok - i have been using stereo traders - limit pullback feature to enter into trades. i am growing frustrated with metatrader but keep using it solely based on this one feature. I tried trading with quantower today and had three losing trades that would have been nice winners with the limit pullback vs a regular limit sell.

Are there any other platforms that offer the functionality of stereo traders limit pullback order entry?

I am reading your question...what is a limit pullback entry? are you referring to break even order?

No - Stereo Trader is the only place I have seen this and I cannot trade without it! I trade horizontal lines, so I place limit orders at lines of interest. Price rarely stops exactly at the line, but with a limit pullback if price overshoots the line my limit order chases price until it pulls-back a specified number of points.

For example say price is at 90 and I want to short 100.

      a) i place a limit short at 100. Stop loss is 5 points at 105. Price shoots to 108 before dropping to 70. I had a 5 point stop and lost the 5 points while watching the market do exactly what I expected. :-(

      b) i place a limit pullback order short at 100 with a distance of 2 points with the same 5 point SL. Price shoots past 100 and the pullback feature kicks in - trailing price by 2 points. So when the surge hits 108 - I have a sell stop in at 106 with a 5 point SL set for 111. Price drops to 70 and I have 6 extra points in profit.

This is the sole reason I stay with metatrader 5 and stereo trader.

Are other position related features from Stereotrader working? (s.a. special trailing rules).
If not, then it seems that MT5 doesn´t "know" that ST will be involved into the order management.

And are you using the speific AMP-Licence of Stereotrader - it´s Broker-related

I am planing to use MT5/Stereotrader together with ATAS - but haven´t startet the installation so far
