What are your thought on digital marketing using Crypto to monetize their offerings. In the wake of recent news Facebook will now offer LIBRA to make transaction and purchases on the application. this might be a game changer. thoughts?

Perhaps, but there are even now options for crypto wallets with debit cards attached such as Coinbase and yet how many regular folk use those? Until a regular punter can freely get a hold of a crypto wallet with as little fuss as possible, it's still only going to be something for the early adopters rather than the masses, even with FB jumping on the bandwagon with Visa, Coinbase, Paypal and some venture capital firms as partners in Libra.

Another big problem with all cryptocurrencies is the fact that they're wildly liquid. So even with the anonymous two party transaction, there is a lag. Which means by the time the money arrives the other end (blockhain is actually pretty slow in reality), the value of the transaction can change quite drastically.

Not to mention in the long run mining cryptos requires an enormous amount of power and energy, which will ultimately be detrimental to climate change. Unless we find a way to mine using renewable energy sources, it would actually be a very bad thing for the planet once demand for mined cryptocurrencies goes up significantly.

From a regulatory standpoint, until we are able to control the wild swings with some kind of circuit breaker as required in Mifid II when/if product moves more than 20% on the day, cryptocurrencies will remain highly risky products that are far too unstable for anyone to use as a viable alternative in doing business. However with FB and LIBRA, they might be able to regulate it themselves, controlling supply and demand, in effect creating their own centralised exchange. Probably the main reason why they're creating their own rather than using existing cryptocurrencies.
